Patty Melts Recipe
Ingredients:
2 Tbsps of vegetable oil
2 cl of garlic; finely chopped
1 tsp of salt
2 pcs of eggs
1 pc of onion; diced
2 lbs of ground beef (lean)
2/3 c of bread crumbs (dry)
1/4 tsp of pepper
1/4 c of olive oil
24 pcs of bread (rye); sliced thinly
24 pcs of cheese (cheddar); sliced thinly
Instructions:
In a frying pan, heat the oil at medium-heat. Cook garlic and onions. Stir ’til softened (approximately 3-5 minutes). Let it sit in room temperature. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk eggs.Add in the beef, crumbs, onion, salt and pepper. Form into a dozen patties, with a half inch thickness.
Grease the barbecue grill and cook at medium heat ’til the inside of the patty is not pink (approximately 5 mins on every side). Trim the crusts of the bread. In between a couple sliced bread and cheese, place the patty.
Brush the bread using oil (olive). Continue grilling 1-2 minutes for every side ’til cheese is melting. This makes about 12 sandwiches.
