2 Easy Kebab Recipes For A Great Summer BBQ

Kebab is most commonly known as a skewered meal or appetizer that is usually grilled. It is most popular on cookouts because it is scrumptious and so easy to prepare. Before we start cooking, let me give you some tips on how to serve the perfect kebab. First, all the ingredients should be cut up to the same size.

Ideally, your meat should be 1 inch thick. Your veggies should also be about that size. Next, select the veggies that don’t need to be completely cooked to be edible. Carrots, onions, peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes are your best options. This will eliminate the possibility of serving unpalatable veggies. Then, when grilling, all you need to worry about is the meat.

When the meat is ready, serve right away for best results. As for the skewers, any kind will do – bamboo, metal or whatever is available. When using bamboo, however, the skewers need to be soaked in the water at least 20 minutes to avoid burning it during grilling.

Be careful with metal skewers as they can be very hot. Use tongs when turning skewers. Now, you’re all set and ready to start grilling! These are two of my favorite kebab recipes you ought to try.

Veggie & Beef Kebabs

Ingredients:

12 pcs (1-inch cubes) beef; lean & cooked
5 pcs green bell peppers; cut in quarters
12 pcs caps of mushrooms (large-sized)
12 pcs cherry tomatoes
6 pcs of bacon slices
Pinch of salt & black pepper
12 florets from a broccoli
3 tbsps butter
4 medium-sized onions; cut in quarters

Directions:

Begin to assemble the kebab on skewers by alternating meat with the prepared vegetables, leaving a minimal space between each item. Brush the kebabs using some butter that has been melted.

Preheat grill to medium heat. Place skewers on heated grill, 1 to 2 inches apart from each other. Cook until one side is lightly browned. Flip and cook the other side.

Pork Tex-Mex Kebabs

Ingredients:

4 pcs pork chops (boneless); cubed into 1-inch thick pieces
4 tsps taco-seasoning mix
1/2 medium-sized peeled onion; sliced into 1-inch pcs
1/2 pc of a green bell pepper; sliced in 1-inch pieces

Directions:

Thread pork cubes on the skewer alternating the onions and peppers, leaving a minimal space between each item. Marinate the kebabs in the fajita sauce for 2 hours. Preheat grill to medium heat.

Place skewers on the heated grill, 1 to 2 inches apart from each other. Cook until one side is lightly browned. Flip and cook on the other side. About 5 mins, before removing the skewer from grill, brush the kebabs lightly with the taco sauce.

Enjoy these 2 really delicious recipes which will surely make your BBQ party a hit.
