Barbecued Beef Short Ribs Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of water
6 garlic cloves; minced
2/3 c of dried sherry
1 Tbsp of fresh ginger; grated
6 lbs beef ribs; cut to one rib-pie
3/4 c of soy sauce
1/2 c of darkbrown sugar (packed)
1 Tbsp of powdered pepper (red)
2 tsp Chinese Five-Spice powder
Instructions:
Take off extra fat of ribs. Arrange beef rib pieces in a large roast pan. For the marinade: Combine the rest of he ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan. Cook at mid-heat ’til sugar dissolves. Take off from fire then pour carefully over beef ribs.
Place in a covered container. Marinate and refrigerate for a minimum of one hour, then turn to other side of ribs. Line roast pan w/ foil.
Place beef ribs on pan. Cook for forty-five minutes, covered. Remove and reserve the marinade. Uncover pan.
Continue cooking ribs for 45-60 mins or ’til both sides of the ribs become tender. Brush w/ marinade (both sides) during the last ten mins. of cooking.
